Testimony
Over the past few years I have been down a winding road. How amazing it is to look back and see God's hand molding me, shaping me, and gently calling me to be who He created me to be!
I have been in church since I was born. However, my dad became radically saved when I was 7 and my life changed dramatically. I began attending a Christian school which was the biggest change. Eventually, I graduated high school from this same school. Upon graduation, I attended the largest evangelical Christian University in the country. It was there that I met my husband, Dan. We were married the summer of 1998. We returned to my hometown and over the next years, I was consumed by the search of "who am I and why am I here." I worked different jobs, and pursued many career paths from real estate agent to special education teacher. One of the paths led me to become very dedicated in volunteering at my local church. Dan and I became youth leaders, and I immersed myself in worship team duties, and office work. A moment that changed my life forever occurred at a worship leaders seminar. A band of young adults were singing worship songs they had written. These songs were filled with passion, devotion to Jesus. The lead singers talked of knowing Jesus, abandoning the world in wholehearted pursuit of Him. It was on that night that I realized I had mistaken knowing about Jesus and serving the church for actually knowing Jesus intimatley. It was if the singers imparted their desire to me while they were singing. My heart was awakened , and I knew that I needed to get unbusy in church duties and get busy seeking Jesus Christ.
From that day forward there have been no doubts as to the transformation taking place in every aspect of my life. It has been a wonderful and gracious journey. I am more aware today of Jesus great love for me and desire for a relationship with me. No matter how far I stray, I keep running back to Him and I find His mercy ever waiting!
